Poker Patience

    Despite the word "poker" in its name, Poker Patience has nothing to do with gambling. It is a simply a single-player card game, that uses poker hands in its course.

    The goal of Poker Patience is to put together as many poker hands as possible in 5 rows and 5 columns.

    Poker Patience is also known as Poker Squares or simply as Poker Solitaire.

    Rules for Poker Patience:

    Poker Patience is a simple game. All the knowledge you will really need is that of winning poker hands.

    Using a 52-card deck, turn the first 25 cards over one by one and place them face up on the table.

    Arrange the cards in a shape of a square with 5 rows and 5 columns.

    The goal of Poker Patience is to put together as many poker hands as possible.

    Try to make the best poker hand horizontally, vertically and (in some versions, diagonally.

    You are not allowed to move the cards that have already been placed on the table.

    The game ends when all 25 cards have been laid on the table.



    Count the point value of each poker hand to get your final score for the game.

    Note: Because of the necessity for score calculation at the end of the game, Poker Patience is most common as a computer card game.
